Student's Success Stories
Nekaram’s Journey: From Migration to Aspiration
Nekaram comes from a migrant family originally from Rajasthan, who moved to Hyderabad in search of livelihood through selling decorative items and idols. Like many children from migrant backgrounds, access to formal education was limited due to a lack of awareness and stability.
Chotuuki Education first met Nekaram five years ago, at a stage when he should have been enrolled in Class 7. Recognizing both the gap and the potential, the team enrolled him in a one-year bridging program to help him catch up academically and build confidence. With consistent support and guidance, he was later admitted into a low-income private school, with a donor stepping in to financially support his education.
As Nekaram grew older, the team explored flexible pathways for his continued learning. He appeared for his Class 10 examinations through the open schooling system and passed all subjects with flying colours—an achievement that marked a significant milestone, not just for him but for his entire family.
Today, Nekaram proudly continues his education in an intermediate college, becoming the first-generation learner in his family to do so. Inspired by his peers, he dreams of becoming a computer science engineer, while his mentors continue to encourage him to explore law and nurture his natural talent in drawing and painting.
Nekaram’s journey reflects the transformative power of access, guidance, and belief. At Chotuuki Education, stories like his reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every child has the right and opportunity to learn, grow, and dream.
Sushila
In 2018, a free medical camp was conducted by CKE volunteers in a slum area of Hyderabad, a significant issue came to light. One young girl named Sushila. Unlike many others, she had a spark in her eyes and a strong desire to return to school. Her age meant she should have been in secondary school, but her education had significant gaps due to the years she had missed. Convincing her parents to re-enroll her in a government school was no easy task. Sushila’s parents were hesitant and unsure about the benefits of restarting her education. Undeterred, volunteers visited Sushila’s home consistently, explaining the importance of education and the bright future it could offer her. Persistence paid off, not only was re enrolled in school. She excelled in her studies and graduated with flying colors!
Sushila is now pursuing her undergraduate degree!
Lingam
Lingam, a 16-year-old from a socially excluded family, has always shown a remarkable interest in education. Seeking support for his higher education, his mother reached out to CKE. Recognizing his potential, the CKE team partnered with Reddy’s Foundation to enroll Lingam in a vocational intermediate course. Today, Lingam has successfully completed the course and is now pursuing his undergraduate degree!
